This designer's new collection of rugs are all handmade in a cooperative of skilled textile workers on the island of Sardinia. She uses traditional folk motifs and rescales them, cropping and juxtaposing them to create a bold graphic contemporary look. I love when folk motifs are reimagined and reintroduced, and I think she's done a good job making the old world new again. They're incredibly expensive, but the idea is worth seeing. Available at Velocity Art and Design among others.
