I'm really interested in printmaking -- the process itself is very intriguing to me because it's mechanical and physical. And it hasn't changed much over time. Plus you're going to need an apron and a big sink-- and any process that requires those things is A-OK in my book. In the digital age, it's great to find a thriving printmaking scene -- bands are reverting to the poster look of the 60s and 70s, and I see this look in packaging and magazine illustration all the time. Visit thumbtackpress.com, a California gallery with a long roster of artists and illustrators. It may be a long list, but Chris is the best. My birthday is coming up by the way, and these prints are very affordable. See for yourself at so hip it hurts.
