Jose Joaquim Ribeiro

This designer and head of the family-owned Cutipol Foundry in Portugal showed these new flatware designs at the New York International Gift Fair this week. Ribeiro's minimalist approach to good simple design makes these pieces a perfect balance of form and function. I love the hand-crafted artisan feeling of them. The design is part of the new Connecticut-based manufacturer called Teroforma, who employed a global slate of craftspeople, including Ribeiro, to create their new line. Beautiful.
