Calon studied textile at the Acadamy of Fine Arts in Tilburg, Netherlands and graduated in 1993, followed by 6 years as a design freelancer. After taking a short break to have two children, she was asked by a former teacher to participate in a design contest, where she received the public-award. This encouraged her to begin working on her own line. The tea towel pictured is a design that sold out at her show a few years ago and the T logo is one she used on a variety of textile, rug, and upholstery goods. The fact that she placed this very graphic rigid design on rounded objects like these chairs, makes it even more interesting.
