In Yellow Springs, Ohio, some local residents knitted this covering for one of the town's pear trees. Is this a kinder gentler graffiti art? Similar knitted coverings have appeared on Houston park benches, Indiana telephone poles, and West Virginian trees. I have to admit, it's a very crafty homey approach to street art. It reminds me of a David Hockney' painting, pictured on the right.

That is so funny, I have never seen this Hockney painting :)
Just goes to show there is nothing new in art :)
