I went to the library to browse and picked up a book I've wanted for a while: Elizabeth Peyton's paintings. I could look at these all day long. She is able to create what seems like a quick sketch with paint. And knowing my love of David Hockney's work, you can imagine how I love the color and drawing style of Peyton. This is one of the artist I would collect if only I had that extra million.... Maybe I'll start a virtual collection!

i could stare a her paintings all day too...
i love that you got it out of the library. a man after my own heart.
One of my Favs too! I think she's great because she's taking the idea of portraiture and breathing new light onto it, making it fresh, especially in dealing with celebrity potraiture. To me, they assume a crisp glow and a fluidity
in the way they were painted, simply beautiful! and and I am always left with a great admiration for her.
