Recycled Retreat

This is a new Texas retreat made from recycled shipping containers. I've seen the acres of shipping containers in the ports of Hong Kong and China, so perfectly uniform and not unlike little mobile home parks. This is the high-end for a container-- beautifully outfitted and positioned in the West Texas landscape, they almost look heroic. I love the innovation that these containers have inspired-- I remember an art exhibit in NY a few years back all made of stacked containers. The first photo is my own in one of the busiest ports in the world. Read the full article here.

I would love to know the "permitting" process for this place. I want to build one in NH but am concerned about the "live free or die" state regulations.
