Terry Posters

Where did I read about this site? It is amazing.
Terry Posters is a site of 7500 posters from the Terry Posters' collection, originating in Czechoslovakia from 1930-1989. All the posters are original prints-- no copies or reprints. The graphic history here is so interesting you'll find yourself browsing for hours. What a great visual resource.

Sshhh..... it's my secret site; I've been going there for years.

It is actually called "Terryho ponozky" -- Terry'y Socks.

I'm still waiting for an explanation, but it is a Monty Python thing, so it may not make much sense.

The Terry in "Terry's Socks" is Terry Gilliam, of Monty Python fame.

And just a correction -- not all the posters are Czech, although the store and site both are. For example, the first poster you show is actually Polish.

The last one might be Polish too. I nevere know since sometimes all our Slovakian based languages are very similar. :)
