If I were furnishing a dining room right now, I'd take a look at these knock-off Hans Wegner Wishbone Chairs (originals in top photo retail for $500 each) from Pottery Barn (bottom two photos). Finished in a similar Sandrift Gray color, these chairs and table would be a less expensive way to achieve a similar look. The PB version of this chair is around $250. I like them.

i was just pondering these chairs myself...i like the grey, and as much as i love those wegner chairs, trying to swing 6 or 8 would be tough...
I really struggled with this too. I love the Wishbones so much that it felt like a cop-out to buy anything else. If I bought a copy I would be reminded that I didn't have the real thing even more than not having any chairs at all!
So I set up a plan: buy two chairs at a time until I have a full set. I mean, they haven't changed in 60 years...so the ones I buy this fall will match the ones I bought this spring.
