My friends Cam and Heather introduced me to this Chicago artist. I like these sculptures, made of wood and steel (Fragment and Semaphore series shown in top photo). White says, "With roots in collage and found object assemblage, I try to find the beauty in the forgotten, the everyday, and the unpleasant, that which has often been rode hard and put up wet." Middle picture is from his wall-mounted Lantern series, a collection of light boxes that display collages made from old player piano sheets. See more.

Thx for featuring one of our faves, Jim. Chicago followers of your blog might want to know about an upcoming showing of Russ's... Show also includes an artist whose work on your walls showed up in the CS piece, Ted Boggs. Info is here: www.art-partly.com.
Thanks for posting about art-partly Cam. I hope to feature more of the artists participating in this Chicago show in the coming week.
The fireplace at Uncommon Ground on Devon looks a lot like his work. Wonder if it is his!
Great work!!!
Katie (Porcelain): If you know Uncommon Ground on Devon, check out the mosaic installations in the bathrooms by the talented Heather Hancock (http://www.hhmosaics.com). Beautiful!
I did see the mosaic work in the bathroom there. Loved it!!!
