Our Porch Makeover

Recently, my dad and I took the old brick front porch on our house and covered it with this new slat-wood wall. A great improvement and with the new house numbers it looks great. All for about $300-- the modern numbers are about half the cost. (And I'm also excited to see our new porch featured on design*sponge today! Thanks Grace.)

I love it. I just sent the picture to my husband hoping I can inspire him to do the same thing. Nice looking and inexpensive.

I saw this on Designsponge. I thought this was a great solution and the numbers remind me of house numbers I wanted to get from Design Within Reach. Very nice job!

Would you mind sharing the height/font/finish you chose for the numbers? I went to the vendor's site, and eventually I would figure it all out, but thought I'd ask instead!

great transformation.

Thanks for your comments everyone-- the numbers we chose from WestOn letters were in the 6" Avant Garde Medium font. We might have chosen something else if we'd needed more numbers than a 2 and a 7! Great styles at this site-- it takes about 3 weeks to receive the numbers after you place your order.

what materials did you use for the slats?

For the slat materials, we just used pine boards, about 6" wide and then stained them.
